HBD Shecklet #1 – take 3

After our Memorial Day dinner, we celebrated Shecklet #1’s birthday with Nana and Papa. His rollerblade safety gear package is now complete! Tony and Kristin and kids also gave him a circuit kit and Mad Libs – perfect for car trips!

Shecklet #2 also got to open his gift from Tony and Kristin – which he was very excited about!

The kids’ youngest cousin slept through all of the excitement 😴

One egg, two yolks, take two

I was making deviled eggs for part of our Memorial Day dinner at my parents house and found another double yolked egg. Different dozen than the last one, but same farm.

Crafty afternoon

For a short time this afternoon, the Shecklets were busy looking at tutorials and then making three different woven crafts and playing with the sands alive tub. Love to watch their creative juices at work.

Saturday on Loon Lake

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa at their cabin tonight. We didn’t go swimming (water was chilly!) but we did go for a boat ride, kids fished off the dock, went canoeing, had dinner and made s’mores.

Plymouth Playground

We attempted to go to French Lake Park today, but upon our arrival, found out that it was completely leveled. We were disappointed it was closed, but look forward to what it’s replacement will offer. We did find a consolation park about a mile away and the kids had fun sliding, running, spinning and swinging.

Wax Museum 2017

The fourth graders each researched and presented a short speech on a famous person. Their presentations were given in a “wax museum” in the gym. Each student had a “button” next to them to push which made them start their speech. It was fun to see the creativity in their costumes and mannerisms. Shecklet #1 was Maximilian Kolbe. He did a great job memorizing his speech and said he enjoyed being part of the wax museum.

HBD Shecklet #1 – take 2

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit tonight with have cupcakes and give Shecklet #1 his birthday present. He received knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards to use with his new rollerblades. He started cruising around the kitchen with all of his gear on tonight.

Last day for Shecklet #4

The last day of preschool year #1 ended for Shecklet #4 this morning. (I actually kept my emotions pretty well in-check!) The year went incredibly fast but it was an amazing one for our youngest. She not only grew in height, but in confidence, skills, and emotions. I’m so proud of all that she did! For celebratory lunch, she chose Wendy’s. The manager asked her age and we shared that it was her last day of school – she ended up with a free frosty for dessert!

HBD Shecklet #1 – take 1

Our oldest Shecklet turned 11 today. I think I say it every year, but I’ll say it again anyway- time goes so fast! He has passed the 5′ mark. Hard to believe he was just 22″ when we met him for the first time 11 years ago. He works hard in school and likes Star Wars, science, and social studies. He really wanted rollerblades, so if you want to find him this summer, watch for him in the bike paths!
